MotoCamp Wales is more than just a place to sleep; it is your 18-acre headquarters for exploring the wilder side of Southern Snowdonia. Whether you arrive on two wheels, four wheels, or by foot, our site is built for the adventurous soul who values both community and the great outdoors.

BIKER FRIENDLY CAMPING AT ITS BEST

We understand riders because we are riders. Our entire setup is designed to serve as a high-quality biker friendly campsite where your machine is as welcome as you are. You won't find any "no motorcycles" signs here; instead, you’ll find dedicated hardstanding areas, plenty of space for your gear, and a community of like-minded explorers.

Our location was formerly a scenic golf course, meaning you get the benefit of established drainage, lush greenery, and stunning mountain views right from your tent or lodge door. We focus on providing a "home base" feel. You can roll in after a long day on the trails, park up safely, and instantly join the conversation at our communal hub. The vibe is laid-back, inclusive, and built on shared stories of the road and trail.

ACCOMMODATION FOR EVERY ADVENTURE

We offer a range of stay options to suit your level of "roughing it," from luxurious self-catering lodges to simple, effective camping pitches.

COZY SELF-CATERING LODGES

If you want the ultimate comfort after a day in the saddle or on the mountain, our self-catering lodges are the answer. Each lodge, like our popular Africa Lodge, is fully equipped to be your home away from home. Expect three twin bedrooms: perfect for groups of mates: a full bathroom, and an open-plan kitchen and lounge area. We provide everything but the food and your toothbrush, making it the easiest way to enjoy the Welsh wilderness without sacrificing a good night's sleep.

SCENIC CAMPING PODS

Our green camping pods offer a step up from a tent while keeping you close to nature. These pods are tucked among mature trees and offer spectacular mountain views. They are simple, dry, and secure. You get a comfortable bed and protection from the Welsh weather, with access to all our shared facilities, including our communal kitchen and hot showers.

LIMITED CAMPING PITCHES

For the purists, we offer limited camping pitches. These are spacious and set within our 18 scenic acres, giving you plenty of room to spread out. We specifically cater to overlanders and motorcyclists, so you’ll find our pitches are easily accessible and offer the peace and quiet you need to recharge.

THE HEART OF THE CAMP: THE CAMPFIRE

The communal campfire is the soul of MotoCamp Wales. Every evening, guests gather around the blazing fire pit to swap stories, share advice on local routes, and enjoy a drink under the stars. It’s where solo travelers become part of a group and where the day’s adventures are relived.

We provide the wood, the seating, and the atmosphere. You bring the stories. This shared space is what makes us one of the most unique campsites in dolgellau. It isn't just about a place to pitch; it’s about the people you meet while you’re here. Whether you’re a complete beginner or a seasoned world-traveler, everyone is welcome around our fire.

WORLD-CLASS TRAILS ON YOUR DOORSTEP

Our location is strategically chosen for adventure. We are positioned perfectly for those looking to conquer some of the UK's most iconic trails and peaks.

  • CADAIR IDRIS: We are just a 10-minute drive or a short walk from the base of this legendary mountain. If you're here to hike, you won't find a better starting point. Check out our ultimate guide to Cadair Idris walking routes for the best paths to the summit.

  • COED-Y BRENIN: The world’s first mountain bike center is just 10 minutes away. Whether you're into technical singletrack or sweeping family-friendly forest trails, it's a world-class destination right in our backyard.

  • THE TET (TRANS EURO TRAIL): For the adventure bikers, we are located right on the doorstep of the Welsh section of the TET. We offer the perfect pitstop to rest, repair, and prepare for the next leg of your journey.

  • TRAWS ERYRI: We are an ideal stop on the Traws Eryri (The Snowdonia Way) route, providing a comfortable place to recover after tackling the off-road crossing of North Wales.

EXPLORE DOLGELLAU AND BEYOND

While we feel remote and wild, we are actually within walking distance of the historic market town of Dolgellau. This means you have easy access to local pubs, cafes, and shops if you need to stock up on supplies or fancy a night off from campfire cooking.

Dolgellau is a hub for outdoor enthusiasts, and its narrow streets and stone buildings offer plenty of charm. From the Mawddach Trail for a flat, scenic cycle to the rugged ridges of the surrounding mountains, there is something for every level of fitness and ambition.

PRACTICAL FACILITIES FOR ADVENTURERS

We know that a good adventure requires good support. Our site includes:

  • Hot Showers: Essential after a muddy day on the trails.

  • Communal Kitchen: A shared space to prep your meals and meet other guests.

  • Safe Parking: Dedicated space for motorcycles, cars, and overlanding rigs.

  • Group Space: We have a marquee and plenty of open ground for biker meets, family gatherings, and training days.
